| | The trouble with weary campers is they behave like demented duracell bunnies when you show them a vacant pitch.
Moat Farm is a great campsite, ideally placed for exploring the woodlands around Thetford and the areas beyond. There are 100s of trails for walking or cycling and access to these begin within a mile of the site. (OS MAP 229 is invaluable and now that the site has WiFi, Google Maps also). The Norfolk coastline is easily accessible form here also. Alternatively, if you are looking for a site where you can just chill out then Moat Farm is for you, it's so quiet and peaceful.
Each pitch is a good size with a plenty of space between adjoining pitches. During our stay we copped a summer downpour and the site coped very well with the excess water. Most of the pitches have EHU. All the facilities are clean and tidy and although there is only one shower, there wasn't any queuing.
The owners of the site, Peter and Jane, are really friendly and very helpful and it just gives the whole campsite a relaxed atmosphere.
If you get the chance, it's worth visiting Dereham which has many unique and local shops and doesn't have that feel of just another town. There's a 24hr Tesco in Thetford as well as Aldi, Sainsburys, Wilkinsons etc. There's also a smaller Tesco at Watton. If you like good food then the Chequers Inn at Thompson is a must especially as they also sell a selection of tasty local beers.
So in summing up, this is a great little campsite run by very nice people and is well worth visiting again and again. See you there.
